This tree has been planted very close to my home, it is about 8 years old. At first the tree was quite beautiful, but the past 3 years it just makes a mess. It loses leaves at an astounding rate and litteraly covers any other plants below it. Then each year it gets these catterpillars which eventually turn into the Acraea horta butterfly. Nice to have the butterfliers each year, but before the catterpillars turn into pupa, they drop from the tree with silk like webs and then turn into pupa wherever the find a space (mostly in my house). During that time you cannot go near the tree or risk being mummified by all the webs. Before any tree huggers start giving it to me, I will replace it with an indigenous tree with less or no mess. My daughter and wife will have my head if they knew I killed the tree, so please help!
