Resolved Question

How do you get the smell of cat pee smell out of the furniture?

I got random cats wondering into my place and marking their territory, there is no way of stopping it unless I was to lock my windows and not have any fresh air in the house... What do I use to stop them from peeing on the furniture and how do I get rid of the existing smell? 54 mths ago

Bi-carb (Koeksoda) and vinegar. Apply with a damp cloth and rub vigorously. It takes a while but eventually it comes out. I had a similar problem. If you don't get it out then the cats come one after the other to spray over the one before. Bad enough if it's your own cat, but when it's every bloody cat in the neighbourhood then I cease to be a nice guy. I would be looking at serious anti-cat measures, preferably fatal. I like the rottweiler idea!

My daughter raised her cats in my house when we lived in Dubai. Thank goodness nothing on the furniture. After trying everything known to man, though, I eventually ripped up the carpets in my room. Still living on the cement....but thankfully, that smell has gone.

Dump the furniture, and get a Rotweiller to sort the pussy out

Put pepper everywhere! I do not think you can get rid of the smell, but maybe pepper will put them off using your place as a public toilet!

Get rid of the furniture, the cat obviously does not approve of your poor taste.

Hmm, I have never heard of anyone getting rid of cat pee smell 100%, so you might just HAVE to replace the furniture. Interesting to see what answers the cat lovers have though, there might be something.

Shock treatment of Bicarb and Vinegar, on the carpet, not the cat. Watch out for the volcano effect when mixing these ingredients. Lastely, nail cat to a tree to prevent recurrence.

try febreeze on it. Wash everything that can be washed (cushions and covers). You can also try some bicarb mixed with a little bit of water and then vacuum it up when its dry. Bicarb absorbs smells

Invite a mouse or a rat the cat will keep chasing the mouse and will have no time oh his/her hands to pee

Shoot them, with a bow and arrow, but use a silencer - SWOOOOOOOSH

Spot Off - available from vets. Or if you have time mix bicarbonate of soda and vinegar to a past and put that on.

Steam clean the furniture (put some vinegar in the water)and when its completely dry sprinkle bicarb on,then vacuum well.Keep your windows closed when you aren't there?Try sprinkling pepper on the windowsills for a while, might get them out of the habit of coming into your house.
