Resolved Question

Today is 9/11 day. 9 Years ago the Twin Towers crashed down. What were your feelings on that day?

Mine was utter disbelief. A day that changed the world. I thought I was watching a movie, when my son phoned and asked if I knew what was going on. I had seen the screen in passing when I got home. May all those souls R.I.P. May their loved ones find comfort, yet again, on this sorrowful rememberance day.

Gobetween, we thought the very same thing.

So ver sorry to hear that My Truth. Must have been so difficult to handle.

I remember it like yesterday. We heard the news and turned on the TV at work. I was watchin it with a really great and decent Muslim college and when the second plane flew in he turned to me and said - "Oh dear - now they are going to blame Muslims and start a war on Islam"... And since that comment I have always read non-mainstream reports on what has happened since. The world has become a scary place since and I seriously wonder how much to follow the consiracy theories....

I will never forget I was listening to the radio and the next there was a news flash - planes have flown into the Trade Centre.....At first I thought it was Absa Bank - Business Trade Centre in Durban. I got such a fright and phoned my friend who informed me it was NY Trade Centre. I was so shocked I couldn't believe something like that could happen......and yes it did and it shocked the World !

Yes it was horrific, but l think the whole rememberance of it should calm down and the tv should ease up with showing the same 6 programmes every single year. Nobdy seems to remember the Philadelphia victims or the Pentagon victims. Other countries have also had repeated terrorist attacks and lots of lives lost. America has had one attack and because it was filmed by so many it makes a big impact...and l think it serves to feed extra hatred for the many, and not just for the few extremists who comitted the crime. How often do you see repeat film footage of the terrorist attacks elsewhere? Many of the relatives of the people who died on 11/9/ say that they would like an end to the excessive media coverage every year as it stops them from 'carrying on' with life. Seeing ones lost relatives falling out of buildings each year can't be much fun.

When I turned on the tv that day and saw it on Sky News, my first thought was that at any moment they will announce it as a newly release movie. I was shocked when I realised it had really happened. I agree they seem to be milking the event to death. It is a day which no one must forget but do not glorify it.

Indescribable. I was in hospital, watching TV in the communal lounge. Next thing these pictures came on and I heard the announcer but it took me many minutes to grasp what he was saying. I thought it was a Science Fiction movie, I was so disoriented. I rushed into the nurse's station to tell them. God, what a day, walked around in shock the whole day.

I was working in Mali at the time and was on the phone with my wife as it happened. She thought that it was some sick joke, but soonrealized that it was not. I decided there and then that I would never trust muslims again and to this day I live by that rule. I get along with those who work with me, but trust: never. They, moderate ones, even admit that momney the donate to mosques, do get siphoned of to support terrorists.

I also viewed that with utter disbelief... It looked like a movie scene... I remember hearing the news at 1400 on Jacaranda and couldnt believe it

Heck yes we were shocked too...sad, so many lives lost...these types of terrorist attacks are so unnecessary. Why can't we all live in peace. It seems like this power struggle is a never ending battle...

Sad day for me. Lost two friends in that disaster.

Being a bully is a bitch!! sooner or later there is a payback time and unfortunately there are always innocent people involved. One can only be pushed and pushed for a certain amount of time before one looses it and retaliates in the only way they can
